It's fantastic seeing our recent paper finally out in @natneuro.nature.com. We show that large-scale functional brain networks activate in characteristic patterns that repeat cyclically. This is the first evidence of networks adhering to structured temporal rules, which may coordinate cognition.

The brain’s networks activate in structured cycles.

Led by @matsvanes.bsky.social, a team analysed MEG data from 800+ people. The strength & speed of the cycles was influenced by genetics & associated with factors such as age.
