@jointhepartypod.com I know I’m like 6 months late to the party, but I just finished listening to campaign 3, and I’m so happy that this was my 1st ever exposure to DnD/TTRPGs. You all are lovely, and Verda Stello is a fantastic world. I echo amanda: I’m so lucky this is what I think of as normal.

This is correct.
When your car is stolen and stripped down for parts and all that is left is the body, you cannot rebuild it. You have to get a new car.

This is also an analogy for what is happening to our country. You think they won't strip mine Yosemite/the Grand Canyon? Make camps for dissident intellectuals?

Law enforcement officers should never cover their faces when making arrests or conceal their identities (unless they are working undercover). They work for us. We have a right to know who they are. These face coverings are frightening & unAmerican, as though they're ashamed of what they're doing.

Have we tried giving operational control of SpaceX to trans high school athletes? Maybe those overwhelming biological advantages we keep hearing about would enable them to build a rocket that doesn't fall apart on launch.
SpaceX is blowing up far more Starships than is typical for a new rocket design.

Even for rocket programs 60+ years ago (1 failure of 6 launches for the Redstones, 1 of 32 for the Saturns, and so on).

And especially compared to the Falcons (2 failures out of 479 Falcon 9 launches so far).

If you're wondering what to say in your comment, consider pointing out that the FDA assesses drugs for safety and efficacy.

Saying that something is safe for 65 and older and people with preexisting conditions but not healthy adults makes no sense.

And if it's efficacious, then it's efficacious.

Congress should be speaking out about this every single day
I’m still baffled at how America took one of the basic principles of the presidency — the occupant shouldn’t be able to benefit financially from the office — and just said, nah, that just doesn’t count for this one guy.
An international trucking logistics firm is buying as much as *** $20 MILLION *** worth of President Donald Trump’s crypto coins to influence the administration’s trade policy.

I don’t think you can be too pro technocrat. But if it is an offense, I guess I’ll cop to it. The US population had a good thing and discarded it for (generously) a pack of snake oil salesmen.
Not to be too pro technocrat, but it is astounding how much this country depended on the selflessness of like a few hundred thousand highly educated public servants who, for peanuts, made sure our food and medicine and environment etc were safe. And in return these servants were demonized.
