Some illustrations I worked on recently for carved in stone by @stoutstoat.co.uk. Loved working on this project!
A group of Picts travelling through the Scottish landscape, making use of dirt paths, old roman roads, bridges and ferries. A group of Picts travelling together (possibly a family? up to you!) including a young man with a spear, a woman dressed in furs, a young girl and a man who has been injured in battle or an accident and lost his right arm. The same group of Picts bartering with a settlement of charcoal burners for a place to stay overnight. Our Picts again, but this time they are camping with a tent. The young man stands watch while the woman cooks and the other two keep themselves entertained.

It features Cousin Miso from the video game Katamari. He has a bowl of soup for a hear, which is spilling into another bowl of soup he is eating. There is text that reads “Soup is Life”. Three rolls of washi tape stacked on top of each other. They are all densely illustrated with my characters. One has lots of cats on, one is full of second hand items and trinkets, the last is witchy and occult items.

Oh hey. I guess I can share this bit of concept art I was sitting on until the medieval adaptation panel was over yesterday (thanks to everyone who came along!)

I’m currently neck deep in an old French werewolf story and my sketchbook is filling up with stuff like this.

It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

Spooky bird stories. Last year's Halloween comic.
A comic titled Spooky Bird Stories. In panel 1, a turkey vulture is telling stories to other vultures, and it says, "She walked toward the source of the terrible smell. She got closer and closer, and then, to her horror, she saw... No dead body." A black vulture says "No!" and a turkey vulture says "Did someone already eat it??" In panel 2, a northern cardinal is telling a story to some songbirds. It says "They peered through the windows of the house at the gory scene. Zombies had smashed through the door in the night. The homeowner was dead. But worst of all... He hadn't refilled the feeders." An eastern bluebird says "Aaah!" and an American goldfinch says "It can't be!". In panel 3, a screech owl is telling a story to other owls. It says "And then the ghost fluffed itself up really big to appear scarier." A saw-whet owl gasps, and a long-eared owl says "Horrifying!". In panel 4, a downy woodpecker is telling a story to other woodpeckers, and says "The eerie sound rang through the dark woods. Tap-tap. Tap-tap. It was the distinctive two-part knock of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. The species had returned from the dead... FOR REVENGE." A red-cockaded woodpecker says "Yesss".

Thrift Goblin…. Because I’ll be gobblin up the weirdest second hand treasures at the charity shop.

I’m desperate to get to 100% today.

Set in a sci-fi world of outlandish alien food, the comic combines good cooking with adventure, humour and heart.
