On January 1, Illinois begins to regulate employer use of AI, making it a civil rights violation to use AI tools that result in discrimination based on protected characteristics in hiring, promotion, discipline, termination, or other employment terms and requiring notice of AI use. #AIBillofRights
Illinois becomes one of the few states to regulate employer use of AI. House Bill 3773 amends the Illinois Human Rights Act to make it a civil rights violation for employers to use AI tools that result in discrimination based on race, gender, age, or disability.

If you've ever been to a naturalization ceremony, you know they're filled with people whose palpable love of this country is twenty times stronger than the pinched "patriotism" of any native-born MAGA chud.

Just unspeakable assholery.

Yeah, a House member needs to send up that impeachment flag. This is illegal, immoral, dangerous behavior — that is also likely unconstitutional as well.

“Yes, yes, we can see all your ‘facts’ and all the adorable little ‘evidence,’ but you failed to consider that none of that matters if we all close our eyes and pretend the Texas GOP actually had pure motives here, you stupid little rubes.”
The dripping contempt the right wing SCOTUS majority holds for district judges is truly a sight to behold every time. When they deign to give actual reasons for their shadow docket holdings, it’s “look at the absolute idiots who keep getting everything wrong!”

Simply amazing that the Supreme Court declared an end to legal race discrimination in the affirmative action case two years ago and now allows overt racism in both immigration arrests and redistricting.

Using race to help minorities? Bad. Using it to discriminate against them? Very, very good.

My 18 year old children came to political consciousness in the age of Trump I, and nothing has been normal since. Put yourself in their shoes. Would YOU trust government? Trust us?

Many of the comments to this skeet are incredibly disrespectful of gen Z. Get a grip. We're responsible.
Young Americans say the country is heading down a dark road and fear their futures are unstable. Financial insecurity, intense political polarization, and the rise of AI are eroding Gen Z's faith overall. 57% of them say the country is headed in the wrong direction — a six-point rise from last year.

Two things:

1) How can people floating in open water continue a drug run? Swim a thousand miles towing a crate?

2) More importantly, drugs are not weapons, and a drug run is not a national security threat, especially not an immediate one to the world's most powerful navy.
A top admiral is expected to tell lawmakers tomorrow that he and his legal adviser concluded that the two survivors of a boat strike in September were attempting to continue their drug run, making them and the damaged vessel legitimate targets for another attack.
