As Matthew Sitman points out — like @zohrankmamdani (and MLK, etc) ‘1984’ author George Orwell was a Democratic Socialist who fought for workers.

He also opposed communism because the two are not the same things and words have meanings.

"Do you know why this world is as bad as it is? It is because people think only about their own business and won't trouble themselves to stand up for the oppressed, nor bring the wrongdoers to light."

We had shown kid "Coming to America" and due to the Bellamy/Ameche cameo thought we should watch "Trading Places".

It hits a little different now that the results of bigoted, old, white, rich men destroying the country has reached a authoritarian peak. 😕

Every pregnancy carries risk, but some are simply too much.

The law led to medical gaslighting. This woman knew what she was experiencing and was not given help to stay alive.

You are not in her shoes and should not have power over her life. That is why abortion must always be legal.

Whenever we have the opportunity to use tech for good like to find stolen cars or for Amber Alerts, we must also consider how it could be abused.

This is basic ethics.

79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

The Founders were so concerned about bribery that the Constitution forbids it three separate times. Two emoluments clauses ban officials—unambiguously including the president—from accepting things of value, plus bribery is the only named impeachable offense besides treason.

Unprecedentedly corrupt.

The question is not did he have sex with underaged girls. He did.

The question is not did he have illegal financial transactions with Epstein. He did.
