Abigail Disney asserts that billionaire status is damaging..for individuals, communities, and the world. In a speech at the G20 meeting, she urged world leaders to tax the ultra rich to stymie the concentration of $ at the top. I hope @mark-carney.bsky.social was listening.

This entire thread on affordability and homelessness.

🧵👇🏽😢
Canada's grievous lack of badly needed affordable housing goes hand in hand with a massive oversupply of overpriced condo units that sit empty. Both of them spring from the same cause: putting our trust in private enterprise to manage basic public needs.

$65B (billion) of healthcare funding in Ontario has gone missing.

Over five years, at least.

The Auditor General has no idea where it went, so it wasn't audited.

Oh, you didn't know?

That's #CdnMediaColludes doing a good job.

Some thoughts on an MP’s role, and why reasonable disagreement within our parties is both good politics and policy so long as it’s focused on ideas.

A little self-reflection never hurt anyone
Honesty and authenticity remain essential and we can’t shy away from sharing ideas simply because they might be taken out of context by bad faith political attacks. But we can avoid making it personal...

Canadians are much better off than Americans, we always have been, we need to break away from this ignorance, JD Vance is a bigot, a racist, a christian nationalist, they simply desire control, people deserve dignity in their lives not to be ruled over by very broken men.
Looks like JD Vance is listening to his divisive BFF Jamil Javani.

I am once again reminding everyone of my very good idea to send the mistreated animals at MarineLand to sanctuaries and let Therme set up their silly spa on the site that already has water, power lines AND parking!
Ford's reason for seizing control of Exhibition Place makes no sense.

He says it's to access water & power lines for the Therme spa.

But the water company doesn't take ownership of your property when it needs to access pipes on your land.

Doug’s not a big fan of the truth and I’m pretty sure he’s allergic to integrity.

#DougFordIsCorrupt and only works for his developer cronies..never for Ontario.
Why do we keep voting for him?!
The inevitable and predictable outcome of a speculative housing bubble is cities like the one I left in Ontario where there were both a great number of empty condos and more homeless people downtown than I've ever seen in one place.
#Bill60 will likely be passed this week, and it will grow homelessness across Ontario — something our food banks, shelters, and municipalities do not have the resources to address.

When you wonder why encampments are growing in your community, remember Bill 60.
