I'm turning #1000wordsofsummer into #1000secondsofsummer because I have a newborn. If I can write or revise for about 17 minutes a day for two weeks, I'll take that as a win.

Happy to report the difference between the forward slash and the backslash is still kicking my ass. Happy Wednesday!

One thing I love about aging is when younger people are amazed by seemingly mundane relics of the past. There was a Boy Meets World clip where Cory gets a phone number and it's only seven numbers. People in the comments laughed at the mistake, not realizing we used to call people without area codes.

Just a little reminder that the South Korean president who just declared martial law was elected two years ago on a wave of anti-feminist backlash. Misogyny is routinely part of the authoritarian package.

Why do “some” 👀 women need Glinda to be good? A month ago, they needed Agatha to be good too. “The witches who didn’t burn” is a more complicated lineage than some want to admit. So many women are telling on themselves, insisting on the justification of harmful behavior. And yes, go see #Wicked. 💚🧹

It’s mostly white people who talk about echo chambers. Maybe you need the internet to meet people with different ideas but the rest of us do not. We know what the “other side” thinks because we deal with it every day! Everywhere! We’re fine. Carry on. Happy Saturday!

there's a quiet belief among liberals that "trans rights" aren't about rights at all, but rather are an indulgence, a dalliance, a "nice if you can afford it" sort of thing. they see transition as a delusional but harmless lifestyle choice, not medicine, not necessary, not humanity.
