This talk is a must-watch for people in the Event-Driven space. I saw @noctovis.bsky.social giving it live at this year's DDDEU, and I truly believe that she nailed the versioning topic 👇🙂

Multi region is not important until it is. Good thing I always carry some cash with me. Today I could not pay for my lunch by card because `us-east-1` was down.

Good news for everyone’s privacy! 👍

There is no majority within the EU in favor of #chatcontrol, and the proposal will no longer be put to a vote on October 14.

For now, chat control is off the table, and #Signal will remain available in the EU.

One day the industry will recognize the drawbacks of AI agents and nondeterministic automation, and rediscover the UNIX philosophy of chaining together small purpose built tools in a low cost and predictable way, otherwise known as shell scripts.

This week I dedicated a lot of time to understand a system issue.

I had to read a lot of code, and debug flows.

It was related to behavior and how data flows.

Because the majority was done by IA some months ago, it felt like debugging legacy systems.

We are creating legacy within greenfields 😅

I asked Industrial policy expert @jonasnahm.com on China's AI. Excellent response in thread:
1. China *is* investing heavily in AI but focus is not LLM but "physical and industrial AI"
2. New data centers regulations: 80% of AI power demand must come from green electricity

3/15 China focuses on "physical and industrial AI" rather than large language models. Xiaomi's fully automated dark factories can produce one smartphone per second. BYD surpassed Tesla in EV production using AI-driven manufacturing.
