Watching The Pitt makes me wish so hard my mom was still alive - she was an ER doc for most of her life and much of that in major urban centers (San Francisco, Seattle, etc) and her stories were SO similar to this shit, it would be so rad to watch this with her 💕

Incidentally, if you’re interested in reading more about this idea you should read “Trickster Makes this World” by Lewis Hyde. Easily one of the top 3 formative books of my life.
It's basically, IMO, an acknowledgement of the fact that our ability to lie, invent, provoke and question is simultaneously our greatest strength as a species and the source of a non-zero amount of our problems. Hence, trickster gods, who bring both good and bad, but are always memorable.

I started going blind almost 2 months ago and it took me this long lol bc I am an oldest daughter and literally allergic to admitting I need help or asking for any kind of assistance at all 😂

My 8yo had to have an endoscopy this morning and she did fine but that was horribly nerve wracking… and then I got my MRI results back and there’s unexplained swelling in my brain that’s probably going to cause me permanently lose my vision.
