this is an act of unspeakable violence. it benefits no one, it doesn’t move a number on a balance sheet. it only guarantees that every one of these incarcerated transgender people will be tortured.

… “only the President or the Attorney General can speak for the United States when stating an opinion as to what the law is.”

That is a LIE.
Trump official announces that Trump has signed an executive order claiming that only the president can speak for “what the law is”

(This is not how the Constitution works)

JD Vance lectured Europe on ‘democracy’ but the only ones clapping are the AfD, Putin’s Telegram feed, and the ghost of McCarthyism. Turns out ‘free speech’ is just fascism with a Midwestern accent. 😒

(2)They appear to have forgotten everything they ever knew about the separation of powers.
Maybe it should be mandatory for "Trumusk" too. They would probably have to tape both of their mouths shut and tape Trump's eyes open. And wait until Musk comes down from whatever he is putting up his nose.

I believe the entire country needs a Civics Class like the one I took as a Freshman in college. Three branches of government, folks. The founding fathers set it up that way to check and balance each other. And to get out from under the rule of a king. It should be mandatory for Congress.

Anyone who voted against Kamala Harris because of Palestine and Gaza, here’s what you voted for.
Trump just said he’s calling for the full forcible transfer of all 1.8 million Gazans out of the strip and says “The US will take over the Gaza Strip”

Good idea.
Well done for making it to the end of January.

Stop whatever you're doing and read a book to reward yourself.

If you don't have a book, then buy one from an indie bookshop, that way you'll be making TWO people happy.

Do you wonder why you haven’t heard much about this massive TB outbreak recently? Cuz the CDC can’t hold any press conferences or issue public statements of any kind.

(4) We also had wellness checks set up if a client did not answer their door for their meal. Who will be there now, to check up on these folks? Who will know? Who will care? Will you???

(3) The funding for many programs is now frozen by the occupant of the Oval Office. Possibly forever. What are seniors who depend on MOW's 5 days a week supposed to eat until this is resolved? What about the tenuous social contact that will be impacted by lack of deliveries? Will anyone even know?

(2) Meals on Wheels was the only source of food for many seniors. In the dining room, most of the seniors would bring plastic containers to take home at least half the food we served for another meal later that day or evening. I was often the only human contact a client would see the whole day.

I worked in several capacities for Meals on Wheels for 15 years, in Idaho and Portland, OR. I delivered meals to seniors and folks with disabilities week after week. I worked in the kitchens preparing the meals. I worked serving the meals to seniors in Portland in their dining room. Continued.

When JD Vance runs for president, I hope law enforcement will remember that he shilled for the president who pardoned defendants who assaulted police officers. No matter how he tries to justify it, that's what he did.
