Deepak Chopra is on the Epstein list. Between that, defending Peter Theil, and being besties with Joe Rogan, Duncan Trussell has one of the worst senses of what a “good person” is. Dude acts like he’s connected to spiritual wavelengths and he can’t even sense evil in front of his face.

Other than narcissism, social media has also increased the prevalence of bigotry among GenX. It’s now far easier to assign someone to a group like “entitled millennial” than to be bothered to consider their POV.

As Dante noted, the amoralist that pretends to be an ally is far worse than your enemy. Yet more tragic and common than both are those who truly believe they are allies, even as they undermine the fight.

I consider it a badge of honor to get randomly blocked by a narcissist that I already unfollowed and stopped talking to. Much like his narcissistic friend, who made up stories about me to protect his ego from criticism, the unnecessary pre-block is the ego building walls. I’m not trying to get in.

Gen X celebrities are coming to the slow painful realization that fandom was a 20th century convention; the internet is flat, and everyone is just a person online now.

There are no “cat people vs dog people”. There are “people who love animals but are too lazy to walk a dog everyday” and “people who hate cats”.

Reminder that like the U.S. the U.K. is also falling off a cliff into nonsensical fascism.

The special relationship was always F’d up. Now it’s full on creepy.

One sad feature of Gen X is the idea that being good at a thing (athlete, musician, writer, actor) can excuse you from having poor moral character. These days, exposing your lack of integrity or self-control via social media can and will negate whatever skill your contribute, as it should.

@danharmon.bsky.social is Krapopolis mocking democracy? It seems to pair well with dark enlightenment/anti-democracy ethos.
