So sad to hear this news. Met Patrick a few times in the press box at Selhurst Park back in the day when I was a student doing match reports for the Wimbledon Guardian. Hugely respected for good reason and will be much missed.

I don't know if Bluesky is more USA-skewed than Twitter was, but still almost all the sports content I'm seeing is about teams called things like the South Oakland Raccoons or Pennsylvania Fuckforce.

Sad to hear this news... he'll always be remembered as one of the writers of AIRPLANE! of course but it was always Police Squad! - the 6-part precursor to the Naked Gun films - that I loved most. So tightly-scripted and dizzyingly packed with silly stuff, I watched them endlessly in my teens.

Whatever anyone thinks of Rod Stewart being booked for #Glastonbury next year, he will always be a legend in my eyes for this stunning performance... with the fuming Scottish FA President looking on in dismay - and all topped of with a failed handshake at the end 😂

I can accept the price of using a social media platform is to be complicit in it indirectly making money out of users, but I draw the line at being used as political capital by someone like Musk. Let's hope this place can be a successful re-boot of what Twitter once was 😎🤞
