One day I will remember that “ride” is slang in Ireland. In attempting to convey how nice the Irish are I recalled a time that two strangers gave me a ride in Westport. The popping eyes made me backtrack to “gave me a lift.” 😳

I never feel more American in Ireland than when it gets above 70 degrees, I don’t have AC, and the windows only open a crack. Still, I love it and never want to leave.
