In other news, it appears that Bashar al-Assad, the long-time dictator of Syria, has been deposed and may very well be dead. He fled Damascus by plane as opposition forces entered the city outskirts, but there are unconfirmed reports that his plane may have been shot down.

177.5kg ATPR! I was sick this past week, so it wasn't as big of a PR as I wanted, but I'll take what I can get! Shooting for the big 400lbs in December!

New squat ATPR... but it's paused!

Looks like CA-13 (Duarte-R) is finally done -- or close to done -- counting with Democratic challenger up by less than 200 votes. I suspect this race will go to a recount and a long series of litigation over ballots. Don't expect this seat to be finalized for quite a while.

Prob a 220-215 House.

I matched my ATPR tonight with a 92.5kg single. It felt great! I'm going to finally bury this number for good next week!

This is why Congress has such low approval.

Senator Paul (R-KY) introduced a poison pill amendment to Senator Tillis's (R-NC) disaster relief bill and then claimed that Tillis was the one killing the bill.

This is showmanship. It's almost always done to score publicity points rather than govern.

My emotional support puzzle is coming along quite nicely 😂

It's looking like the GOP's House majority will end up at anywhere from 219 to 222 seats, depending on how the last few races go.

This is an incredibly tenuous majority that is likely going to struggle to govern effectively.

Expect dysfunction, infighting, and another nasty fight for Speaker.

So I've done research on voter behavior and partisan trends for several years now, and one state I have been particularly interested in is North Carolina.

This election NC did what I expected: it trended left hard (this is different from popular vote!).

Once we have final results I'll post maps!

Hi Bluesky!

I like to pick up heavy things and talk about voter behavior and elections.

It's my thing!
