Yes, the White House has been renovated before, but with transparency and purpose. In 1934, President Roosevelt expanded the West Wing and built the Oval Office to modernize the workspace. It was done with public knowledge, historical preservation, and functional upgrades, not ego driven demolition.
Renovation isn’t the issue, transparency is. FDR expanded the West Wing in 1934 to serve the public. Trump is demolishing the East Wing for a ballroom he said wouldn’t touch the building. That’s not progress, it’s deception. The White House belongs to the people. Not one man’s ego.
