Late notice, but LWV and @slindivisible.bsky.social are holding a rally at the Utah Capitol tomorrow re: the special legislative session on redistricting.

TLDR: the session is the latest legislative action in a 7+ year saga of trying to keep Utah red at all costs.

DHS made these unlawful changes without public notice. Only after a lawsuit filed on behalf of EPIC, the League of Women Voters, and others did DHS finally open the door to public comment & ask for retroactive authority to overhaul their system. We demand that DHS reverse course now

It's hard to imagine a less partisan organization than the League of Women Voters (although, these days, anyone who supports the US Constitution and the rule of law is Anti-Republican).

Stopping new citizens from getting registered to vote. Can you imagine anything more un-American than that?

I view election work like donating blood - it's a relatively low amount of time and effort for *huge* benefit to others and you get unique experiences out of it. And there are so many public advisory boards in localities!

Also, seriously. You care about how elections work? Join your local board of League of Women Voters and if you are under 40 you can be a VP on that board within a year b/c everyone is an older lady (also men can join LWV) and they are super helpful to our electorate.
