🚨 “The government failing to debate the Climate and Nature Bill on 11 July is a betrayal. Keir Starmer, you said in your manifesto that the climate-nature crisis is “the greatest long‑term global challenge that we face”. Now is the time to deliver the legislation required to tackle it.” #CANBill

Hey! I just signed a petition calling on the UN to ban fossil fuel lobbyists from the Global Plastics Treaty negotiations. Companies like Shell make billions turning oil and gas into plastic - so they’re trying to sabotage the talks to protect their profits and block real action. Let’s stop them!

This is a serious oversight when you consider small waterbodies make up 70% of freshwater landscapes. We will need to keep pushing this important agenda.
📣 The Independent Water Commission are currently examining the regulatory framework for the water sector.

Today, they have published their interim report, which disappointingly overlooks the importance of small waterbodies.

The UN agreed a Global Ocean Treaty which is key to protecting 30% of our oceans by 2030, currently less than 3% is properly protected. To make this happen, we need at least 60 countries to sign it into law. The UK should show leadership & implement it & support a ban on deep sea mining immediately.

🪲 The Freshwater Network is a solution to the freshwater biodiversity crisis, and is based on four principles.

1️⃣ Principle one is to protect the best first, then repair, so we can preserve high-quality habitats for broader ecological recovery.
