🧵(3/5) If you are a deaf BSL user, this will be recorded on your Single Patient Record and visible to every healthcare professional you meet.

As the deaf health charity we at @signhealth.bsky.social have been working with @rnid.bsky.social on our new report, Still Ignored.

Deaf people are still fighting for accessible healthcare. Many face extremely poor health outcomes as a result and this must end - no more excuses, no more barriers.

So frustrating. Poor process = a poor quality hospital appointment, which puts deaf patients at risk!

Ironically seeing this in Sign Language Week, the same week I had an inaccessible hospital appointment because my GP's request for a BSL appt in the referral didn't get processed properly.
Thank you MP @thurrockjen.bsky.social for highlighting the work of SignHealth and the barriers for deaf people accessing GP appointments in today's British Sign Language Week debate in Westminster.
