An excellent feature about the coaching career and philosophy of someone I have in great esteem: GM Melik Khachiyan 👏👏

I’ve had the privilege of working with him in talent development initiatives like the FIDE Chessable Academy, the Women In Chess Foundation + Chessable Scholars.

From chess beginner to 2000 in just 2 years? Sounds impossible.

But Kamryn Hellman did it.

In this thoughtful guest post, the author and streamer shares the insights and practical lessons that made it happen.

My dear colleague Sophia wrote an inspiring piece about IM Andras Toth for the @chessable.com blog.

A must-read for #chesspunks and everyone who needs a reminder that finding your calling sometimes takes unexpected turns.

It's not uncommon for big cities to have a park with chess tables, where hustlers and experts gather to play with chess enthusiasts and by-passers.

In my hometown of Lima, Peru, we had two such places and growing up, I would go there to practice with stronger players.

On a day like today the great Vera Menchik was born!

Not only was Vera the first women’s World Champion. She was also the longest-reigning one — 17 years!

More importantly, she paved the way for more #womeninchess.
