Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

I am completely awestruck by the ease with which Mike Johnson lies on a daily basis. I'll never understand how such a transparently fraudulent "man of faith" can live with themselves. Life is too short to be that phony.

From the white supremacist book the official DHS account is referencing: "The point is to reveal organized Jewry as a world power entrenched in every country of the White man’s world, operating freely across every nation’s frontiers, and engaged in a ruthless war for the destruction of them all."
DHS is recruiting using a not-so-subtle reference to a 1978 book from white nationalist William Gayley Simpson, Which Way Western Man?

Simpson's book was released under an imprint associated with the National Alliance, founded by Turner Diaries author William Luther Pierce.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.

Backers of an initiative requiring a person to provide proof of citizenship as part of the voter registration process have begun gathering signatures in Washington after a Thurston County judge settled a dispute on how the measure would be described on ballots.
This measure would make Washington residents prove they are citizens when they register to vote
A Washington Republican Party leader drafted a 2026 ballot measure imposing new rules that critics warn will deter some residents from registering and kick some voters off the rolls.

Crawford seems to have impressive access to at least one of the Justices, which enables her get some terrific journalistic scoops, on the regular.
