certain people made their careers flipping the fuck out, rightly, about the Bush-Obama drone assassination campaign. then in early 2017 they mysteriously went silent about it being radically ramped up, and again stayed silent when Biden largely ended it
People not caring about this during trump 1, then not noticing when it stopped under biden drives me up the fucking wall
fucking obscene and I do not blame certain centrist types getting really mad at how little certain people care

Induction stoves are quieter, cooler, and produce less toxic pollution than gas. On the other hand, they also cook better, as a growing number of professional chefs recognize.

Once again Ukrainians achieve something outstanding with what little they've been provided. Liberating Kherson, defeating Russia's Black Sea fleet, the Kursk offensive, among other things. And now this. If only they were given what they need.
Your key takeaway from the brilliant Ukraine attack with small drones into Russia shouldn’t be “wow, small drones make it so easy to score huge hits,” it should be “wow, Ukrainians are insanely good at covertly planning and executing extraordinarily difficult missions of which drones are one part”.
1. The FPV drone tech Ukraine used here has been around for a while, though it was used very ingeniously.

2. The Ukrainian attack using these drones relied upon what sounds like over a year of extraordinarily precise logistics, planning, and training. This is not something just anyone could do.

Rewatching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for the third time. What a fantastic show. And the pilot is amazing, something the franchise is infamously not known for.

For my own sanity. It's good when your theory's predictive power is validated; too bad what is being predicted is horrible.
Reminder: if you predicted half the things happening now (threatening to take Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal; lawless mass firings; complete defiance of Congressional prerogatives; mass pardons of violent supporters) even a couple of years ago, Serious Thinkers would have dismissed you.

Blade Runner 2049 is excellent in almost all but one major respect: the score. Embarrassing stuff! Dull, stupid, and characterless. At least the first one was atmospheric (if overall not particularly smart). Such a missed opportunity. 👎
