Just wrapped a June-August trip to Europe. Attached map shows how
useful the Eurail pass was. The many additional bus and walking journeys aren’t shown.

In London and had already seen everything that interested me at the theatre, so after a 10-year gap I saw Les Mis, because of course I did. Coming off three weeks in France, I was secretly cheering for the Monarchy to endure. Alas, not to be.

I wonder if, in the United States, on my shelf, this is the only bottle of Geuze Devillé from Den Herberg in Halle, Belgium.

I'll soon be back in the Low Countries and drinking gueuze of all kinds.

Oh come on! I am absolutely pro union/organized labor. But, I am also anti innocent bystander collateral destruction. Airline passengers have little elasticity to say "Well, out of worker respect I'll just stay home today, or I'll take another form of transportation."

Mad respect. I buy radishes weekly.
Picking radishes is no easy task. Efrén spends 8-10 hrs/day on his knees, picking and sorting the radishes into small bunches to fill dozens of crates a day in CA's Ventura County. He's proud to have worked in America's fields for 49 years. #WeFeedYou

Maybe a bi-monthly or quarterly schedule is more sustainable and easier to assign hosts in advance?
Right, so, there's still no host or topic for the June edition of The Session. Who wants to do it and keep the ball in the air? You just need to...

1. Volunteer.
2. Choose a topic.
3. Write a post announcing the topic SOON.
4. Round up all the responses.

See the moral parallels between the rationale of the President in 1965 to ensure civil rights and of President Trump in 2025 to quash civil rights? Yeah, I don’t either. I see antithesis.

I love this view of growers tending their hops.
Hops grow much higher than grapevines. "Pruning in the hop gardens of Faversham" (c 1910). By London photographer William Whiffin (1878-1957), who pioneered what would later be termed "street photography in London's East End.".
