Perhaps that's correct, though it is hard to prove the causal link.

So, the question is: what is an effective argumentative strategy that can effectively undermine populist claims?

The second point is that it is easy to criticise those who try to meet populism on its terms. Let's not forget that we had Brexit a few years ago, and the battle was lost. First, in the referendum, and secondly in the implementation.

So the most interesting question is: if immigration is not what creates deep tensions in society, what is the root of the problem? (I don't know, but I'm asking).

Thank you, you make some very good points. Two questions:

There is an issue of immigration, which no one seems capable of framing correctly in Europe/America/etc. Now, one could perhaps deny it altogether, but this strategy then requires a different diagnosis of a malaise that is real.

I'm thrilled to share that I've been awarded the Digital Future Fellowship by the Digital Futures Institute at King's College London for the 2025-26 academic year!

My gratitude goes to the Digital Futures Institute for supporting ambitious, collaborative endeavors like ours. Here's to embracing complexity and forging new paths toward a thoughtful digital future!

Joining this diverse cohort of interdisciplinary scholars marks an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of knowledge, creating educational and research pathways that resonate globally. It's an honor to be part of a visionary group aiming to ensure technology serves human flourishing.

I'm excited to collaborate with my outstanding co-investigators, Professor Luca Viganò and Dr Flora Smyth Zahra.

Our project, "Interdisciplinary Approaches for Uncertain Times," seeks to creatively bridge law, philosophy, and technology, exploring innovative ways to navigate complexity and uncertainty in an increasingly digital world.

Rollercoaster in Russian is "Amerikanskiye gorki," American Hills.

In Italian (and also French/Spanish/Portuguese), it is "Montagne Russe," Russian Mountains.

Go figure.

Great event at KCL last night with David Spiegelhalter, @richard-lehman.bsky.social, @lorenzoz.bsky.social, Yulan He and Sylvie Delacroix discussing Hamlet, uncertainty, and why every confidence interval is wrong.

Big thanks to Larry Solum for the kind words on my paper! Always appreciate the signal boost. If you're interested in Mixed Constitutions, give it a look. Would love to hear your thoughts!
