Occasionally I like to doodle using yellow and purple highlighter layered over each other for the initial linework, since that was what I was doing when I first found out highlighters glow under blacklight. Did today’s monster doodle like that. #blacklight #art #monsterart #doodle

Glad to see people continuing to find out out the same kind of thing that I did back in 2020 when my art done entirely in highlighters due to limited access to materials at the time glowed under the light of the UV bug-zapper in our living room. 😁

in the advent of AI slop stripping away the humanity of the arts, we need to recognize the talents of those who work on movies, games, cartoons, etc. The storyboard artists, the programmers, the musicians, etc. It's one reason why I talk a lot about industry animators and their work.

The wings of some butterflies serve as a defence mechanism by mimicking threats, like the eyes of a predator, or the look on a predator's face when it's about to tell a long, boring story about predation that isn't even that interesting to other predators.

Y’know, if you really want to just enjoy doing art for its own sake, I really would recommend getting a blacklight flashlight, a set of highlighter markers, one of those multi-tip ballpoint pens with several colors, and a box of 96 Crayola crayons. #art #doodles #blacklight
