There is literally a whole Netflix show about people with autism dating??!
Autistic people and their loved ones have swiftly and publicly rejected statements by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the nation’s top health official, that people with autism will never play baseball, date, pay taxes or have a job.
RFK Jr. said autistic people don’t work or play sports. They say he’s wrong.
The health and human services secretary on Wednesday suggested that autistic children would never play baseball or pay taxes, enraging those in the community.

Ugh we’re doing this Rodgers thing, aren’t we?

Russell Wilson is finalizing a deal with the Giants, as the Pro Bowler is the latest big QB domino, per The Insiders.

Rather than wait for Aaron Rodgers, NYG adds another veteran QB to go along with Jameis Winston.

There are a lot of refugee sending countries on this list. Countries from which people used to have high asylum grant rates in the U.S.. Or from where U.S. resettled refugees.

This shows how far the US has departed from the Refugee Act of 1980, signed 45 years ago on Monday.
Trump’s new travel ban is coming imminently, and it seems like they may ban all entry by Cuban and Venezuelan nationals.

Not even at the height of the Cold War did we have such sweeping visa bans on Cubans.
Draft List for New Travel Ban Proposes Trump Target 43 Countries

A draft circulating inside the administration lists three tiers of countries whose citizens may face restrictions on entering the United States.

Received my layoff yesterday. Don’t have many words, other than it’s so defeating to see the entire refugee resettlement system that’s been in place for decades in this country go down with me.
I have been with this organization 7 years. I started when there were less than 100 staff at HQ. To watch us grow so much over the past few years just for everything to be torn down in a matter of weeks is heartbreaking to say the least.

A small victory but not if the administration doesn’t actually care about complying with the courts. Unfreeze the funds, now.

Elon musk is the richest man in the world, he could be funding hospitals, medical research and universities. He could be solving the climate crisis. He could be feeding, hungry children. Instead, he’s trying to make sure that your grandmother doesn’t get an extra dollar of Social Security.

The IRS is preparing to give a team member working with Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency access to sensitive taxpayer data. IRS data is tied to millions of Americans, including their tax returns, Social Security numbers, addresses, banking details, and employment information.

Happy to see people putting their money where their mouth is but also a little horrified that Costco at 10am on a weekday had checkout lines to nearly the back of the store.
We got a Costco membership for the first time in our lives today. They asked why & I said because treat your workers well, you value diversity, & you didn’t cave in to authoritarian demands. He said: “We’ve been getting lots of folks saying that, thanks for joining.”

One of my party facts is that according to polls, Americans believe foreign aid is about 25% of the federal budget and on average that it *should* be about 10%.

The actual number is less than 1%.

Foreign aid has long been a boogey man of the right, so it's not surprising they're vilifying it now.

There is no point to this other than to be unnecessarily cruel. Refugees are legal permanent residents in the U.S.; it’s not like you’re make things so bad you hope they go back to their own countries because they literally cannot…
