There was me. Looking at my tatting and .. i got a big oopsy. On the right on that bit dangling down theres a single purple loop. Cos my brain said its the outside. Its not. I gotta undo back to just before that purple loop. Grr #lacemaking #tatting

So. We made the big motif laat night and then right at the end i saw a loose thread. Do i go back today to fix it. Cos it was of course right at the start of the motif. Now i also see i forgot some twists. Sigh. youtu.be/vELAYlt4yf8?... #lacemaking #bobbinlace

Trying some youtube recommended thread. It has a few downsides. The beige is more wirelike. The red wasnt so bad. Meaning if you had to put it down it would twist and flip and be a pain. Similarly it made the end bloody awkward too. So yes. The end looks a bit mashed.

Made me a 2x2 square. Definitely need to work on the evenness. And the joins. O could have done way better. It looks very tatty over all and that wasnt a pun. Its not neat and regular and pro looking. It looks. As it is. New maker.

Poking the tatting needle seems so much easier than shuttles. Your fingers dont get caught. It doesnt seem to twist up and getting even tension stitches is also easy. I tried a youtube video for shuttles on my needle today. Need to do better on the chain lega but... i dont hate it
