Just had a brilliant meeting with my Aspire Liverpool hat on. The woman I met with was from Vermont and it immediately reminded me of probably one of my favourite places in the world we visited in 2023.

Tough spinning class at Cardinal Heenan Lifestyles this evening 🚲

A great example of a successful partnership between @lpoolcouncil.bsky.social leisure services and a local school.

Definitely ready for tea now! 😥

I’m not a blue, but what is good for #Everton is great for our city.

It was lovely to join the Sport Liverpool board this evening for a tour of #BramleyMoore Stadium 🏟️ 🔵

Not long to go…

A huge thank you to Cllr Barbara Murray for inviting me to help launch Liverpool’s Year of Spoken Word.

It was a fantastic event at Liverpool Central Library filled with literacy and culture organisations who do great work in our city

Was really pleased to support Cllr Simic in formulating and passing this motion on creative education last night.

The Coalition Government deprioritised the arts in the 2014 National Curriculum and introduction of the EBacc.

We must ensure all students can access creative industries!

Really excited about this cultural project that the council and Culture Liverpool has commissioned for our area.

At the end of the residency, there will be a festival in Dovecot and some permanent public art.

Absolutely gutted to hear The Vivienne has died.

Viv encapsulated british drag, with of course their scouse comedic streak.

I’ll never forget her ode to Liverpool legend Pete Burns during her first runway on @dragraceukbbc. It made me proud to be scouse!

What a star! Thanks, Viv ❤️

The tide is starting to turn after 14 years of Liverpool being cut to the bone by Lib Dem/Tory Governments.

It doesn’t solve all our issues, particularly given demand led pressures and previous saving targets, but a 9.5% increase in our core spending power is most welcome! 🙏🏻
Today we set out the Provisional Local Government Finance Settlement worth £69bn with an extra £3.7bn for social care and a new £600m Recovery Grant directed to areas with higher deprivation.

Fixing the foundations of local public services as part of our plan for change.

A Scouse spoken word artist has teamed up with others to produce a track based on conspiracy theorists and the confusion of modern life in the UK that’s now being played on national radio 1

Could it make an unlikely bid for Christmas number 1?

Our Labour Government sticking to its promise to redistribute on a fair and equitable footing.
