Every fish tag tells a story ... and one of our NY striper tags just turned up in the stomach of a bluefin tuna caught in Maine! Since 1961, the American Littoral Society has worked with anglers to study and protect our fisheries. Our volunteer Fish Tagging Program turns everyday anglers into fisheries scientists, tagging and releasing fish from striped bass to fluke to track their movements along the coast. Those tags and the data logged helps us protect the fish we love to catch and the ecosystems that sustain them. Join the Fish Tagging Program today to get a tagging kit and learn where your fish go! Will yours be our 1 millionth fish tag?🎣 Learn more about our Fish Tagging Program at LittoralSociety.org. Want to get your kids hooked on conservation? A big thanks to everyone who came out to lend a hand at the Shell-a-bration at Fortescue Beach on Sunday, Nov. 2. Not only did the oyster reef get completed, but we finished early - which provided extra minutes for the after party, which included delicious food (from Spanky's BBQ & Catering ).
