Does anyone know the answer to:

“what percentage of the uk population take immunosuppressant medication"?

Google is no more useful than a bag of dicks.

Reminder that if you ever need a meal and can't afford it, find your local gurudwara, they will feed you a great hot meal for free, you won't even have to fetch a plate for yourself and they'll also give you a place to crash if you don't have one and there's room. gurudwara is open to all always

The problem with this article is that the media hasn't been very empathetic here. This isn't a case of "white man kills family" and the photo is him jet skiing. The media has actually been trying pretty hard to shame everyone who is being empathetic to him.
The empathy is coming from social media.

Photoshops by people with poor photoshopping skills are more endearing - and environmentally friendly - than these AI images. This is absolutely no better at getting the technical details right (e.g. the faces of the 2) than a bad photoshopper.

Quite surprised that the BBC 10pm news is quoting disablist hate speech out loud; without a hate speech content warning first. But then we’re only disabled, we’re not full humans with thoughts and feelings

I fully support the introduction of tethered plastic bottle lids to reduce the amount of plastic bottle tops littered.

But the current design of the lids is so bad, the tether is so short, that it’s almost impossible to get the lid back on if you don’t chug it in one.

Yes I just got a shower of OJ

Living in a block of flats, I’m so scared that one of my neighbours might be charging one of these things in here.

In the BBC article about this fire it says this:

The *government* is aware it can ban these things; rather than just advising ppl not to buy them?

“So this guy from apartheid goes to America and cons his way to collecting half a trillion dollars and buys a President with it. Then he starts to order Congress around from his computer which is actually a portable telephone.”

Anyone reading the Cass Review should be able to see it was political, with a set end point dictated in advance. It was criticised at the time by scientists for this. Every other country’s reviews on gender affirming care has found puberty blockers are safe. Cass’ report should be binned.
An independent (2024) review commissioned by the NSW government into gender-affirming care for children has found that Puberty blockers a 'safe, effective and reversible' form of gender-affirming care.

Gannett, owner of the Des Moines Register, won’t publicly commit to paying legal costs for Ann Seltzer, the pollster being sued by Trump.

This is ominous, especially in light of the capitulation last week by Disney/ABC, which is vastly better resourced than Gannett.

There’s so many jaw drops in this article. He’s not been having cabinet meetings, he’s not even willing to be on the other end of the phone for his cabinet, his aides compile media briefings for him that leave out all criticism.
How the White House Functioned With a Diminished Biden in Charge

“Over four years, Biden held nine full cabinet meetings—three in 2021, two in 2022, three in 2023 and just one this year. In their first terms, Obama held 19 and Trump held 25…”

Hm, I wonder why agricultural chemical companies don't want tighter PFAS regulation, I'm sure there's a benign reason for it.
Why Are Pesticide Companies Fighting State Laws to Address PFAS?
In Maine, Maryland, and beyond, the industry is using a well-worn playbook to slow legislators’ attempts to get forever chemicals out of food and water.

So the list is, I presume, being quickly retitled “The 100 Best Restaurants; and one to avoid at all costs”?
A norovirus outbreak linked to oysters sickened at least 80 people who attended an event celebrating The Los Angeles Times’s annual list of the 101 best restaurants in the city, local health officials said. Tickets to the event cost $159, with VIP tickets going for close to $350 each.
