Disposal mechanism.
Criminalization is a disposal mechanism, folks. Worshipping it with a religious fervor—as so many people in this country do—is actual death cult shit.

What Robert said 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽
it's important this go as viral as the original story for morale purposes if nothing else. despite the image they project these people are NOT unaccountable. consequences CAN be forced. focused anger and outrage MATTERS.

These pro-birth weirdos are f*cking up education so that you have to have more babies
By the way, as a reminder, the pronatalists are now writing policy proposals about making it harder for women to go to college so that they have more babies. And not some obscure blogger or something. The Heritage Foundation. www.heritage.org/education/re...

Wow my god read this if you read nothing else today
Part 1 of a series about exactly what has happened over the past month, how it’s happening, and what is likely to happen next

This one's about the actual structure of DOGE, which is not an ad-hoc agency overstepping its mandate but a carefully-crafted weapon intended to unmake the government

Send them some recipes for your favorite dish while you’re at it, or an entire downloaded book on racism, maybe?
Note that anyone can email the snitch line, DEIAtruth@opm.gov. So if you’ve got any, uh, thoughts or information you’d like to share about this initiative, fire off that email today!

Find your reps. Call or write every day telling them to speak out and oppose the EO banning gender affirming care for folks under 19. It’s endangering lives and it’s going to get people killed. Tell them to say something

Great analysis of the floating signifier of this healthcare crisis moment by the peerless Kelly Hayes…
My latest is a reflection on how people have responded to the killing of a health insurance CEO. "Rather than centering Thompson’s humanity, as scolding voices have demanded, they centered their own, and the humanity and suffering of others who were harmed by the insurance industry."
Insurance Denials, Chronic Pain, and a Nation’s Rage
One might call this development “a morbid symptom” of a late-stage sickness.

Build group power by organizing, joining a union, making a book club, anything at all to be with others either in person or online where you share values and can be in solidarity
“Join a labor union, a social movement, a political party, a tenant union, a community organization, a book club. Literally anything is better than sitting at home and scrolling on your phone and getting mad at the news.”
Many protest movements of the past decade have backfired. What would it take for one to succeed under Trump?
Some features of mass protests in the 2010s also held them back – but years of study have made journalist Vincent Bevins believe solidarity and structure can effect change

Local organizing, everybody
In the three majority-Native districts in Alaska, the 'no' to repealing RCV won 64% to 36%, netting 2,960 votes.

Statewide, the 'no' only won by 664 votes.

This was not a coincidence, but result of plenty of organizing, & work by Native leaders: boltsmag.org/alaska-measu...
Powered by Native Voters, Ranked-Choice Voting and Open Primaries Survive in Alaska
Alaska’s predominantly Native regions delivered huge margins against repealing the state’s new elections system, despite facing continued logistical challenges to voting.

So much down-ballot good things
November 20, 2024 at 4:05 PM
One of the best election resources and reporting available, focusing on down ballot and underreported races that REALLY MATTER.
Toss them some support, their work is critical!
At Bolts, we have a special lens: we cover the local offices that govern voting rights, courts, & criminal justice.

Under Trump, this work will be so crucial.

Far-right sheriffs that ICE will tap.
Elections offices under pressure.
Reform DAs facing retaliation.

Why we need your support. ⤵️ ⤵️ ⤵️
