Vesper sparrows are little birds with big voices. Their song is so sweet - it might be my favourite sparrow song. If you look closely, you can see the rufous shoulder patch that is a key field marking for vesper sparrows (full disclosure, you very often cannot see it 😂) #birds #birdsonfenceposts

Today the Supreme Court cleared the way for the federal government to transfer thousands of acres of national forestland including a Native American sacred site, to Resolution Copper a mining company owned by Rio Tinto and BHP. The land holds deep spiritual significance for the Western Apache tribe.

Not our beloved Fraser Street... My heart is broken. I feel so sick reading the horrific details of what people experienced at this evening's attack. This is a violent violation of a special safe place shared by so many, on a day to celebrate Lapu Lapu. Take care of each other.

CPC candidate Aaron Gunn, by now everyone knows he's a residential school denier and tapped into the white nationalism on Vancouver Island North. Let the memes begin! This guy is a coward. #cdnpol

On this day in #Vancouver history (April 2, 1920) the Japanese Canadian War Memorial was unveiled in Stanley Park.

After the memorial was dedicated, cherry trees were planted in 1920, 1925, and 1932.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.
