We can be a superpower in all the wrong ways Mark Carney wants to make Canada an energy superpower. I assume, since this was announced around a meeting of the big wheels in the oil and gas industry, that he means a fossil fuel energy superpower. We all need to stay intensely aware this means making Canada a global warming (aka global overheating) superpower, with all the benefits that implies; i.e.a wildfire superpower along with a sea level rise superpower and a flood and extreme storm superpower. Every pipeline and shipping facility will add to the greenhouse gas load in the atmosphere, so making our overheated climate even more overheated. This will make the fires we now have on the prairies more intense, much faster moving and much harder to put out. Does this really have to be the price of our prosperity? Ian Douglas Brown View Royal
