“Trumpers defend HHS cuts.” Shocker, right? But this article shows what scientists 🧪 are up against. And gives a bit of hope.

The Trump/Musk people are highly savvy about info environment and media. They have to be, their regime is built on deception. They use the media. This story… 1/
Trump officials defend HHS cuts as more methodical than the slashing at other agencies
The administration’s Friday night message comes as a sharp departure from the approach that Trump and DOGE have taken to cuts in other federal departments and agencies.

Hey, AHS!

IT'S AIRBORNE.
(You know, "carried by the air"?)

WE BREATHE IT IN.
And it lingers in the air for HOURS in unventilated rooms.

This is not opinion, it's documented fact. (You know, as opposed to politically motivated fiction?)

If you are a ‘Rest as Resistance’ girly I’m here to tell you that Long Covid steals rest. There is no respite, no refreshment, no possibility of rebirth. There is sometimes sleep, there is collapse, there is cellular exhaustion but no rest. There is no resistance without a mask.

I worked a 12 hour RN shift on Friday and was actually able to be up and around on Sunday. I didn’t feel great on Sunday by any means, but sometimes the post shift PEM just takes me in to my next shift and so on.

Staying hopeful.

The estimated prevalence of 6.4% for #longcovid in the US is very high. Granted, this is a survey based study with the limitations that come with self reporting. It doesn't take away from the seriousness of the problem and the need for treatment options for those affected.

What people think Covid is:

A bad cold that sometimes causes the elderly or vulnerable to die.

What Covid actually is:

A SARS pathogen that causes vascular damage (even in mild cases) resulting in health issues, either now or in the future, regardless of age or health status.

Will I continue to follow the trend of my cancer pup? We take our meds on the same day; she takes her chemo and I take rapamycin. We have the same anxieties and are miracle survivors of at least one thing. Yesterday, her cancer was found to have shrunk. Will my long covid shrink?

Day 839 - Good advice in normal circumstances.
If there's one thing I've learned these past two years, it's that there is nothing normal about COVID-induced metabolic dysregulation. What you should normally do is likely to disable you.

Just took my second dose of rapamycin.

Lately have been feeling even worse in this purgatory. Migraines, dizziness, and neck pain. I thought my brain fog and PEM were the worst and now I have a new symptom that won’t let up. My brain is exhausted.

This peds nurse says amen to this! I have seen covid harm children.
COVID isn’t a cold—it's like a car accident. It damages organs, causes long-term illness & raises risk of heart attack. In the long run it's always a losing game. Hack it by understanding risk.

This is important and if stressed could be an important motivator for people in healthcare to want to mask, encourage masking and educate patients about the harms of #COVID infections still. I’m not sure why we aren’t being the models of prevention as healthcare professionals. #longCOVID #medsky
The risk of organ damage is real, and while many people do recover, serious complications can occur even months after the acute infection. (Some heart attacks and strokes occurring in people who had COVID-19 are misclassified as ‘unrelated’ to that infection bc docs don't make the connection). 10/

This.
If you’re someone who is still complaining about temporary stay at home orders and how “awful” it was for you to be isolated - why aren’t you masking or taking Covid precautions?

You’re forcing disabled and high risk people to isolate indefinitely - when you deemed it a fate worse than death.
