To be clear, I was lightly poking fun at this show which I love, not suggesting that FX should cancel it. Jeez did they overreact
English Teacher is my favorite show on television, bar none; however, they should have hired someone (probably me) to be an Austin consultant. That airport in s2e5 is not our airport. In s2e9, they should’ve referenced HEB, not Piggly-Wiggly.

On days when all you have are meetings, emails, spreadsheets, negotiations, and disappointments, this is a nice reminder of why the true work of an editor—the point of the whole thing—is still meaningful.
I have been thinking about this line today, on the value of editors, from the late great John Bennet, for no reason in particular.

I find Jack Schlossberg to be a mostly delightful card. I'm generally amused by his social media presence, he seems smart, I get the sense that our political stances mostly align. Overall, I enjoy having him in public life. Simultaneously, I really do not need him to be in the U.S. Congress.

Having lived in NYC for 12 years, I strongly believe that, should I at any time grow hungry, I should ALWAYS be able to find a good snack within a one-block radius. Being pretty much anywhere else in America really tests this belief.

This Louvre heist is just so inelegant. Danny Ocean earns our respect with his elaborate deceptions. You don’t know his team was there until they’re gone. Meanwhile these hooligans are smashing windows and setting off alarms. No finesse. I scorn them.

I’m in LA for the first time in a minute and would like my fellow travelers to know that there’s now a shiny new metrorail station at LAX! It opened in June! You can take the K line to and from there! That opened 3 years ago! Public transit actually can improve! It is not too late for any city!
