After serving as Director of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and VP of Caltech for three years, I have decided to step down, effective June 1. Though not an easy decision, I strongly believe it is the right one for me, my family, and the Lab. www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/dave-ga...

This is freaking awesome. Go Firefly Blue Ghost!
This is what a lunar eclipse looks like... from the surface of the Moon.

That dark circle is Earth.

Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander took this image last night.

NASA science for the win!!

After many years of work by hundreds of talented folks at JPL, Caltech, BAE Systems & many other partners, NASA's SPHEREx mission was deployed by NASA LSP & SpaceX last night to begin its journey of discovery. S/C is healthy & power positive! 🛰️✨

On console for SPHEREx launch attempt tonight — best part of my job is seeing our teams work issues in real time and make magic happen! Great collaboration across universities, industry, int’l partners, NASA, JPL and SpaceX. Lucky peanuts are GO (but not until fueling starts)!!

Had to say goodbye to our Space Pup Hudson on Thursday. Battling cancer and it was time. We will miss him so much. 💔

Thank you for your great partnership with Caltech and JPL on this exciting mission! Go Lunar Trailblazer!! #LaunchDay
NASA's Lunar Trailblazer is set to launch to the Moon very soon. 🛰️🌘🔭

The spacecraft, carrying the University of Oxford's (@ox.ac.uk) Lunar Thermal Mapper – funded by us - will map the location of water to support future missions, when astronauts return to the Moon.

How NASA’s Lunar Trailblazer Will Make a Looping Voyage to the Moon
Before arriving at the Moon, the small satellite mission will use the gravity of the Sun, Earth, and Moon over several months to gradually line up for capture into lunar orbit.

This is the kind of critical work we do at JPL, tracking potentially killer asteroids. Our NEO Surveyor mission will find 1000s of potentially damaging asteroids with enough warning to deflect. In a mission review today the team showed a mission patch with a T-Rex that said "never again." Love that!

Big week at JPL! Two launches! Lunar Trailblazer, a lunar orbiter with powerful eyes to detect lunar water -- launching with IM-2 on Wed. SPHEREx, a cutting edge astrophysics mission, mapping millions of galaxies with over 100 colors of infrared light to explore our cosmic beginnings. Launching Fri!

I need some pet pics today friends. I’ll start. This is Hudson. He has cancer & is being such a brave boy w/his chemo. Unfortunately it’s mostly happening elsewhere (because fires) so I’m not with him right now & am missing my boy (ok both my boys - missing hubs too). Show me your fur babies!
