Not a surprise but this is horrifying and has real implications for what will be covered by insurance.

In what is clearly an attempt to sow doubt in vaccines, RFK removes all representatives from ACIP. To be clear, these are not political appointees. They are pediatricians and scientists.

Here's the NIH's proposed budget - from $48 billion to $27 billion. NIAID, current ~$7 billion cut to ~$4.2 billion.

The proposed 15% cap on indirect costs remains.

Again, these budgets are passed, and our leadership in science, technology, and innovation is gone.

Gender affirming care is life saving. This move now takes it away from adults on Medicaid. It’s shameful and many Americans will suffer.
1. Terrifying news for transgender people across the United States. In a late night development, the House Spending Bill was amended to ban transgender coverage for transgender ADULTS on medicaid!

A manager's amendment removed the words "for minors."

Misinformation is a very powerful way of shifting narratives away from what is proven scientifically. The science is clear the vaccines are safe and do not cause autism. As scientists and public health professionals, we all need to help shine a light on nefarious attempts like this.
Children's Health Defense (CHD), founded by HHS Secretary RFK Jr, has created an imposter webpage that closely mimics a CDC webpage on Autism and Vaccines. It is nefariously seeding disinformation by presenting a seemingly balanced argument on the science supporting and refuting autism and vaccines.

For many years, PRAMS has been used by women’s health researchers to understand and help address issues related to pregnancy outcomes. While there no public announcement about shuttering PRAMS, those who work must closely with it report this has happened and access to existing data is blocked.
This is an incredible loss. PRAMS (Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System) has been essential for understanding care access and outcomes in the perinatal and postpartum periods.
