Trump now invoking the widely recognized “following the law is too much work” exception to due process. Courts usually HIGHLY sympathetic to this argument. 🙄

In case you’re interested in Black public opinion #BlackVoterProject measured attitudes toward Trump throughout the election, polling the SAME people over time.

Total % rate Trump 8-10 (10 pt feeling therm scale):
April: 16%
Aug: 11%
Oct: 13%
Dec: 11%

Dems best chance is to mobilize Black voters…
Trump's honeymoon is over, if it ever even began. In the new Pew poll, only 47% approve of his job performance, while 51% disapprove. 40% strongly disapprove. While 35% support all or most of Trump's policies & plans, 47% support only a few or none.

I love working at public libraries. Today's little distraction involved the librarian showing a little girl how to navigate the aisles and her genuine gasp of wonder once hitting her jackpot––Greek mythology. These free, public, last remaining third places really are magical ✨

Proud that my piece on respectability is officially out at APSR. It’s open access!

The piece matters a lot to me bc it reflects my strong belief that Black people’s political & social lives warrant deep study & deserve their place in our field’s “top” journals.
