Cannot agree with this more. Having been ‘forcing’ myself to read non-fiction for research for months, I finally picked up a fiction book 3 weeks ago and have been devouring books obsessively since ❤️ so glad my book collecting hobby never went away so I have a full stash to get through 🤣
Sometimes I think my concentration is shot and I can’t read books anymore, and then I read something gripping and realise I just don’t want to read tiresome books written in a dull way.

Sometimes you feel so violently called out, it’s triggering in itself 🙈
Complex trauma survivors can be ambivalent about making decisions & cutting off options-- but having decisions taken out of our hands, especially without our knowledge or against our will, tends to be triggering as hell.
