Working through @smershpod.com's Tuesday Night Movie Club as @johnrain.co.uk, @itsdanthomas.bsky.social and @garwboy.bsky.social watch films of variable quality.

Sometimes I want to (re)watch the films when they get torn a new one by the lads.

Anyway, on to Police Academy: Mission To Moscow...

Solo dadding tonight. Planned to get the kids to bed then watch and write about a film, as it's been too long since I put anything new on the site.

Instead, I let them decide what we ate, we cooked together, then got into our PJs and watched TV of their choosing while eating ice-cream.

Plans, eh?

The Covid enquiry has concluded that the reality we all witnessed *was* the actual reality, and the version which Johnson, Cummings et al insisted was happening was a total fabrication.

It’s incredible that we have to have lengthy enquiries after the event to establish consensus reality now.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the release of David Bowie’s Blackstar single, so I thought I’d post one of my favourite Bowie drawings to celebrate.
(PS There’s still a few prints of it left if anyone’s interested)

Haven't seen much of the latest series of South Park, how are they getting on?

Enjoyed revisiting their puppet action comedy a little while back though. Seemed pretty brutal at the time.

Folks, I really need some help. For the last 10-15 days, I've been pretty much out of action, which has put me two weeks behind on promoting my Film Stories 500 show in London next week.

I'd be grateful for any help/support in getting the word out.

Thank you.

Best described to me as "not the film you think it is"...
"You're nothing but a shadow on film..."

Quite simply, one of the most joyous, adrenaline-fueled, endorphin-releasing movies ever made. 104 minutes of sustained genius, full of funny, classy, inventive and exhausting moments and sequences.

A masterpiece.

Working my way through @smershpod.com's Tuesday Night Movie Club back catalogue and just got to Howard The Duck.

Having such a good time with the podcast (a better time than I had with the storybook!), that I'm considering rewatching the film, but I seem to remember it lasting half a day.
"What is reality? Reality on any one world is mere fantasy on all others. Here all is real and all is illusion. What is, what was, and what will be starts here with the words… IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS… HOWARD THE DUCK!"
What the duck?! It’s Howard: The Book!
