I created a t-shirt design to encapsulate the range of emotions I, and presumably you as well, go through every f-cking minute of every day.

*can’t remember the title. But now this sheep has a different connotation from the original intent anyway.

The viewing

The first gallery opening of this series was in Charleston SC. They loved the series so much they said “Do more!” I had an older painting of sheep in a field and quickly retrofitted the gallery with my paintings on the wall.

Circa 2016

Early in the series. The idea of a big beautiful bird flying through a contained crapulous space has always been compelling to me.

A few years back I was in full swing with my animals in man made spaces. I started to wonder what else I could do with the idea. I’d been painting and teaching abstract art for about 10 years, so I merged the two ideas. This was the very first one.

Posting paintings while the country is on 5 alarm fire feels pointless but somebody might feel a little better so…

One of the first in this series from 2015. Years ago I was looking for something different rather than do what I was seeing a lot of… this idea really spoke to me and spoke to issues I am concerned with.

Several years ago a hunter in Africa shot and killed a beloved lion. In my world, the lion got revenge.

It’s pretty hard to feel any level of normality these days, all I can do is keep moving, do what I do, help and act where I can. Fuck trump.

It's International Holocaust Remembrance Day. I pulled this out of my illustration archive... a poster created for The Diary of Anne Frank, a play put on by the Children's Repertory Theater. It was a challenge to create a visual that told the story without showing the worst of it. 18x24 Pastel.

2017. I just love the juxtaposition of unlike things: life/lifeless, organic/geometric, man/nature, warm/cool

2015, when this series started, inspired by an abandoned dry cleaner. Everything was just lying around like the people vaporized. This space inspired probably 20 paintings.

Gearing up for two shows back to back. This critter is called a capybara, they’re the largest rodent in the world. Very chill, will hang with anyone, herbivores, no natural enemies.

Years ago I got to paint in an abandoned dry cleaners.. everything was left behind, clothes and all. I started to wonder what would happen if mankind just disappeared which is the origin of this series.

Created in 2016 as the wall rhetoric was at a fevered pitch. Still very relevant today. This study depicts a Patagonian Cavvy on the streets of Cuba. Having just returned from a trip to Havana.. which is another story.
