Big News: Dallas City Council has approved moving municipal elections from May to November in odd-numbered years.

More Texans will vote. Fewer dollars will be wasted. And more voices will be heard.

Honored to have worked to pass SB 1494 and deliver for the residents of Dallas. #TXLege #SD16

Denigrating the media, targeting rivals, undermining trust in the justice system. I’ve seen this playbook before in Putin’s Russia in the early 2000s. America’s democratic institutions may be stronger, but we should never take them—or our rights—for granted. As I told @IAmAmnaNawaz / @NewsHour.

Chuck Schumer and ANYONE who supports him need to be ousted from the party. The same way they wrongly treated David Hogg should be the way that Schumer is treated now.
What was the damn point of the shutdown? People missed paychecks, families went without SNAP, and Democrats walked away with nothing.

This isn’t about moderates versus the far left. It’s about who’s actually fighting for people who are struggling.

She nails where so many of us are right now.

“Why would a prominent venture capitalist [Peter Thiel ally Marc Andreessen] bristle at a pope calling for basic ethics? Because Pope Leo XIV may be the one authority on earth that Big Tech cannot control.” 1/
A tech billionaire mocked Pope Leo XIV’s call for ethical AI.

The post was deleted — but not before exposing Silicon Valley’s deeper discomfort: a pope they can’t buy or bully.

It also revealed something older: the Valley’s original sin — the desire to be God.
Tech Billionaire Mocks Pope Leo’s AI Warning — and Reveals Silicon Valley’s Original Sin
A billionaire tech guru openly mocked Leo's call for moral AI — and quickly backtracked after backlash. It’s a telling collision of Silicon Valley hubris with a pope they cannot buy, bully, or ignore.

I let those peppers ferment with some onions, carrots, and garlic for almost a full month, strained it all then blended with some apple cider vinegar, a little bit of the fermenting brine, cumin, and coriander. I forgot I was out of bottles though so need to order some more 😅🍽️🌱🌶️🔥

Writing the part of my book explaining how, under Clinton, Larry Summers made crushing the possibility of regulating derivatives his reason for being; derivatives crashed the global economy; Obama made him his top economic advisor; THE END. Much more depressing than writing about the Tea Party.

Tom, every Catholic identified organization is somehow entangled with the NAPA Institute, "Alex from Hallow", & Jonathan Roumie in the United States. Real unfortunate how lobbies, capital venture, & celebrity stand-ins have such an ability to have their influence in things.

This seems like the most straightforward and also basically accurate message.
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

Read every word & share with everyone you know. This is real life here in Chicago. Americans need to know this grotesque reality & stand with us.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

This is exactly correct.
Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

It includes names, dioceses, birthdates, original and current appointment dates, country of birth, and religious order (if any). Auxiliary bishops are included as well.

Either way, so many Dems... the bulk of the Senate caucus, House leadership, governors, etc.,... all quickly throwing down the gauntlet with such open unrestrained attacks on any Dems who cave is new. It wasn't like that in March, not nearly as loud and widespread and immediate, much more base-only.
