Cool project!
I'm finally starting this project to watch the entire Touchstone Pictures filmography (every film associated with the Disney label whether through production or distribution) from 1984-2016 & share my thoughts on each release in this thread. Follow along as I revisit the hits, misses & obscurities.

There’s a lot to say, and unpack, regarding the unsanctioned demolition of the east wing of the White House this week. A big part of that, for me at least, is the legacy of presidents watching films in its movie theater and documenting it, including Carter watching AUTUMN SONATA with 50 staff.

In a recent ep of a certain movie biz podcast, the hosts started off w/"how could they greenlight this??" but ended w/acknowledging that reputational benefits + awards were probably worth it & any $ lost could be justified by WB's hits. Even if you care about this stuff, value ain't always monetary!
free your mind from Shareholder Disease! I cannot think of a less joyful use of brainpower than sitting in a theater wondering "How could this possibly be profitable for WB?"
People are whining that One Battle After Another cost too much money and will have a soft opening but whatever because a) it’s not your money they spent b) movies have a life beyond the opening weekend c) I expect strong legs for this one because everyone loves it
