The very civilized geese in my neighborhood have left for the winter. They pooped all over the grass and sidewalk. BUT! They waited their turn to cross the street, and when they did, they only crossed at the crosswalk. They always looked like a group of elementary kids walking “mostly” single file.

I saw two cyber trucks in the parking lot at my train station and stg I am going to make bumper stickers that say “douche mobile” and put them on every single one of these trucks I find.

I was kind of disappointed in myself for not being more vocal about the political environment. But then I remember I ran for and won a seat on my local city council specifically to stand up to this kind of tyranny. I might not rage about things online, but I still fight. And I’m proud of it.

There is a dog in my neighborhood who is the most amazing doggie in the world. Luna will roll over in the middle of the street for belly rubs from folks. Now that she recognizes us, she will lay on (not at, on) our feet for belly rubs. We’re not even dog people and my kid loves her.

This is how the Civil Rights movement won. Not just because of protests (though it televised the brutality), but by building case upon legal case showing how the laws themselves were not being upheld by segregationists.
Knowing the details of these legal cases is, ahem, critical race theory.

I am glad that today the governor signed a new law repealing New York's ban on providing food and water to people waiting in line to vote. However, it should be clearly noted that this was the result of successful litigation brought by the Brooklyn NAACP -- which the state fought and lost in court.
