Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

Can attest that all my best jobs were on majority women teams, or in environs w cultures set by women.
the women in the workplace discourse is very funny because a man who can act normal in an office environment that's predominantly female is absolutely on easy street. it's maybe the best gig anyone in history has had. and yet for many guys it is utterly impossible

we can chalk it up to youth and inexperience but the biggest mistake the mamdani campaign made was winning by 8.8% and not 1.5%, which is the margin needed for the media to say it’s a total mandate

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

57% of all ad spending by Republicans in the Virginia governors race was on anti trans ads. Just an incredibly mismanaged campaign. Anti-trans politics are a losing issue.

every campaign is different - every election is different. i'm not trying to do the pundit thing. but it feels vital that somebody can win a big election with a campaign that feels joyful, not based on fear, resentment, etc

It's insane that this even needs to be said.

“A free country does not dispatch police in the dead of night to pull people from their homes because a sheriff objects to their social media posts,” @adamsteinbaugh.bsky.social speaking to @willoremus.com.

The 61-year-old Tennessee man plans to sue after authorities dropped charges over a political Facebook post. Free-speech advocates say it’s a symptom of a wider crackdown.

Kat is being federally charged by the FBI for protesting at Broadview.

This is a flagrant political prosecution by the Trump administration, which is trying to prevent free speech and free association.

I am proud of Kat. Her movement is being targeted by the government. She needs your support.
I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

Reminder that while Todd Blanche is threatening to arrest Democrats, he's also one of the officials who decides whether to hand $230 million in taxpayer money to Trump, which he very well may do. That should secure him that pardon if he needs it.

Tech corps succeeded in telling people art and media should be free. People happily shell out $$$ for electronics, but hate spending any $ on "content" for them.

Even with books--where costs are low and there are libraries everywhere--people regularly claim it is horrible how much books cost.
AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising

All week the pro-Israel and pro-Trump supporters screamed at us, in unison: why aren’t you celebrating the ceasefire??

Because we knew it wouldn’t last. But even I didn’t think it’d be over in less than a week. What a complete & utter humiliation for Trump, thanks to Netanyahu.
