The Trump DOJ argues in this case of mistaken deportation is that the *only* claim anyone can bring seeking the wrongfully deported person’s return from the black pit of a Salvadoran prison is a habeas petition that the court has no jurisdiction to hear. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
"We're sorry but we can't comply with your habeas petition because we no longer have any authority over the prisoner" is not a good response.
The Trump administration conceded in a court filing Monday that it mistakenly deported a Maryland father to El Salvador “because of an administrative error” and argued it could not return him because he’s now in Salvadoran custody.
