Just saw a DW report about 500 Russian citizens facing deportation from Latvia because they didn't meet the language requirement for permanent residency. So I checked, and it turns out the required level is A2.

In months, you can get A2 in Urdu or Ancient Vietnamese. This is the hill I will die on.

I honestly think we need to declare piracy of material by Russian companies entirely legal in the free world
you actually have a moral obligation to pirate them

it's literally not even just that you're giving ad revenue to a company that pays taxes in Russia. they quite literally have sent money and tanks to the war in Ukraine

Avoiding escalation was not essential. It only encouraged Russia to escalate more.

The entire war could have been avoided had the US or Nato signalled Putin that they were ready to intervene.
Stoltenberg described ending the call as “extremely painful,” fearing it could be Zelensky’s last, but said avoiding escalation was essential.

He added that U.S. President Joe Biden agreed, saying the United States would not risk World War III for Ukraine.

‪The the fact that russians have been bombing civilians on an unbelievable scale for almost four years without any significant protests, and the rest of the world still consider it appropriate to work with them, cast them in movies and shows, celebrate their “culture” is deplorable.‬

EU's latest report on Ukraine's reforms keeps mentioning that the Attorney General is a political appointee, which some in Ukraine took as a criticism and a signal that it has to change.

So I checked, and it turns out that in 100% of EU member states, the Attorney General is a political appointee.

Day 1348 of Russia's genocidal + imperialist war.

It's become a race against time.
Which collapses first? Russia's economy and ability to fund the killing? Or Ukraine's frontline and ability to recruit enough warriors?
