I appreciate having a new hyperfixation with KPop Demon Hunters. At least this doesn't cost me money (yet?) like my spring embroidery one did.

Ok, I get the hype for kpop demon hunters. I've been listening to the soundtrack on loop for two days while working. I need books with this energy.

I love when I look up almond flour recipes, every website assumes I'm trying to be *healthy*. Nope, I just like the flavor and texture. Give me all the butter, sprinkles and *gasp* sugar.

Happy release day to LC Whitehouse on her debut novel, a Taste for Lies! She was kind enough to let me read a digital ARC which I really enjoyed. Worth adding to your TBRs, especially if you're trying to get yourself out of a reading slump.

Dragon Gods by Kiersten Michele
One side believes dragons don't exist & the King is a god. Otherside, kept in the slums as laborers, believe in dragon gods. She's a rebel, he's a soldier. Kidnapping, escape, a forest with deadly creatures forcing them to unite. "Oh, captor of mine."

A Taste for Lies - LC Whitehouse
There are balls, fanciful dresses & walk abouts. Some people have heightened animal gifted traits. There's classism & heists. Alora & Taran have great chemistry. Side characters are well-developed & fun. End reveals felt a bit rushed but excited for book 2!

City of Mirth & Malice - Alexis L Menard
I drug my feet finishing this because I didn't want it to end. I loved the twists and turns. I loved the story. Who doesn't love a heist? I hope the story continues with the next adventure.

Made the mistake of bringing facts into a discussion on the Denver plane fire. I guess we're just blaming "because that's what the other side does." I thought I chose the side of facts, empathy, and giving a damn.

Does anyone else end up with really random patterns between recently read books with totally different synopsis? Currently it's cigarillos in Crowns of Nyaxia and now Order & Chaos series? Don't think I'd heard of cigarillos beforehand.

A Flamed Forged in Mist by Samara Saward
Interesting premise, magic systems and world. Book felt more YA than adult with character's actions and trial methods. Ever was way too fast on forgiveness. Plot twists could of used more tension build up. Gorgeous cover.

I love the Waterstone's edition of Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven. The premise reminded me of Claudia Gray's Firebird trilogy which I loved. Hoping to love this just as much when I read it in 3-5 business years. 😅

Made it 36 years living in Ohio without going to the Shoe but when your team gets its first Stadium Series outdoor game, you go. It was below freezing but still a great time. In true Columbus Blue Jackets fashion, they had to make the last 10 minutes very exciting hockey.

House of Bane and Blood by Alexis L. Menard
Nico and Milla have great chemistry/ banter. The mystery & linking is well done. The world is very interesting. The magic elements & creatures were very inventive with it all being in an Industrial Era setting.

Seriously, just read the book.

Desire In His Blood by Zoey Draven
It was fine. I haven't really read alien romances, so maybe the genre just isn't for me. I appreciate the creativity. Definitely spicy. Toxic relationship at the start. I felt like I missed a prequel that explained the different worlds and species.

Hymn of Breath and Bone by Madeleine Eliot
Same banter as the 1st, same nursing back to health, more Caspian back story, a new baddie. Spice occurs. Kelpies & sea dragons. Awesome magic displays. Satisfying conclusion to the duology but left open for new world exploration.

Brooke Shields is Not Allowed to Get Old by Brooke Shields
Enjoyed the audiobook since the author reads it. Insightful analysis of something women tend not to talk about unless it's negative. Backed up with data which makes me happy. Worth listening to, even if you're not in the age bracket.
