I am positive that the folks who follow me already know this, but if you see a person being kidnapped off the street, put your body in the way.

Record it and get in the way.

To be effective, our opposition to today's abuses must run alongside a clear picture of what we are actually for - and how everyday life could be better with different leadership.

The Senate passed SF 146 yesterday. The so-called "Taylor Swift bill" is a good piece of legislation that restricts the use of online bots for the purpose of ticket purchasing. Sen. Trone Garriott spoke in the bill's favor on the floor.

Holy shit. Please read this.
It's a high bar, but this from @radleybalko.bsky.social might be one of the most fucked up things I've read in the new Trump era. For context, this TX lawyer had just had an informal conversation with a family caught up in ICE raids.

Seriously. Read this. radleybalko.substack.com/p/the-courag...

It’s a month since the administration detained and disappeared a green card holder, a lawful permanent resident.

We cannot allow this to be normalized or forgotten.

On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo
Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?
Looking for a supernatural queer read?

Listen to Nancy, who came to talk to me about her son Charlie.

I had to tell her that as State Auditor, I couldn't help. She reminded me that as someone who cares for fellow Iowans, I could share her story.

You can also share her story.

Are you listening, Governor?

Interesting that Trump’s economic approval has fallen to basically the worst of his career and his overall approval is right around where it always is. Maybe the entire phenomenon isn’t actually about the economy? Or maybe there’s much further to fall if / when things get worse. We’re gonna find out

The disconnect between online and in person is sometimes hard. Online, we are all very vocal about exactly how bad things are, but in person, most people either don't acknowledge it or legitimately don't think things aren't normal. How are you all dealing with it?
