100 y ago construction of hydro-electric power station commenced at #Ardnacrusha on river #Shannon; major engineering feat by #Siemens-Schuckert & #ESB. First electricity generated in 1929 & still going strong! Conference in #UniversityOfLimerick organised by #CIGS recalled this landmark project
