My education role at The Sandbox Game was eliminated, so I’m in project mode while I seek my next adventure.

Goal: Learn to leverage AI to design and develop a fun game about using AI. The game will teach what I learn. #GameBasedLearning

players leave if menus frustrate them
good feedback loops = player satisfaction
clean design = better reviews

Traditional assessment focuses on products.

The assumption?

If we see a quality product, it means the student performed well on all related tasks.

Good Product = Good Process.

But that's far from true.

By focusing on only the final product, we lose the chance to offer more valuable feedback.

#MediaLiteracy Critically questioning a single media example (slide 1) can help students look “beyond the surface,” but there is so much power in having them look across collections (slide 2) to understand how media can perpetuate world views, stereotypes and implicit biases. #EduSky #TlSky

This is an excellent article with practical recommendations to improve your outcomes using AI.

For me, curiosity and practice led to naturally using some of these methods, and I valued the results more than my initial more basic prompts.

I look forward to trying out new things from this list!

Education seems to move so slowly at times - but if you told me 3 years ago every child in my class would have an iPad, we’d have Minecraft accounts and we’d be enjoying a diving contest as a stimulus for our journalism lesson - well I would’ve laughed!

What are you looking forward to enjoying today?

Mom made strawberry rhubarb pie. I’m excited to try it. Thanks for sharing your favorite with me today, @paengilis.bsky.social! 🫶🏻

I’m also making two of my husband’s low sugar favorites: pumpkin pie done, cranberry sauce later.
